The Department of Online Learning at the State University of New York at Canton is recruiting a full time Instructional Designer to support the College’s digital and accessibility initiatives. The position is responsible for a wide range of duties with a primary focus on providing support, guidance and professional development to members of the campus community on accessibility best practices and the use of digital media and technology.

OTHER DUTIES INCLUDE: Captioning and Transcription of video and audio materials for the Deaf, using technologies and media for blind and low vision students, creating accessible online materials and using video-streaming technologies, and problem solving for inaccessible course software or hardware.


Bachelors in technology, education or related field required and a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a technology-related discipline. Preferred qualifications include experience working with and knowledge of the principles of universal design and ADA/disability standards; and experience working with a learning management system in a higher education setting.
