"This chat will apply best practices in teaching and participants will develop a course outline and use Web-based tools to create a rich learning space. The talk applies cognitive learning theory by applying Bloom’s Taxonomy to create a learning space that moves your class along a continuum from lower to higher level thinking skills.
I will reference my own research showing that students prefer an environment that moves from teacher centered to student centered assignments.
By the conclusion of the chat and Q&A, participants will be able to design a course that moves from lower level thinking skills to higher level thinking using a set of freely accessible Web-based tools. Participants will be able to set up online lectures, collaborative assignments, and student-centered projects. They will be able to apply Quality Matters Rubrics to the design of a Learning Management System and integrate and assess learning outcomes."
