Hi Alexandra! Thank you for the warm welcome! I am looking forward to sharing ideas and learning from each other about online teaching. I will check the links and introduce myself in the community. I am happy to be a part of it!
I enjoyed being part of the online training initiative this summer. Thank you for referring me to the organizers. I think the participants (nearly 200) enjoyed learning about the 8-step SOFLA cycle of learning. 50 minutes was tough and I had to talk super fast. However, it's recorded, so they can go back and look. I hope you get a chance to watch it yourself. I did a two-hour version this morning for a school district and that gave me more time to be interactive. I also have a "course," a 15-hour module with synchronous and asynchronous tasks interwoven, that I have done for BOCES. I think SOFLA is catching on. Here is my latest article just out in August: Fostering Teaching Presence through the Synchronous Online Flipped Learning Approach: http://www.tesl-ej.org/wordpress/issues/volume24/ej94/ej94int/ Enjoy! Hi Alex: Thanks for the welcome! I am looking forward to participating and learning about teaching online. I participated in the SUNY QbD course (just finished it) and have lots of new ideas to use in my own courses and with my work with faculty at my college. I will follow your advice and check out the links you suggested. On a personal note, we are a big SUNY family, I went to UB and my two sons went to ESF and Binghamton.
Thank you! I am looking forward to participating in this community and learning as much as I can about teaching online. I've seen many of your videos as I continue to work through the SUNY "Interested in Teaching Online" course. I especially enjoyed the videos on how to establish social presence and class community. They were very helpful. Thanks again!
Thanks for the welcome and the guidance, Alexandra. I posted a profile pic, and I think I fixed the links. Will get to the other stuff soon. Looking forward to participating in the community!
Hi Alex. Thank you! I'll get over to the other pages and introduce myself. I think I had signed up already for Friends of SUNY but when I clicked on the link it went to a 404 error page. Looking forward to being part of this awesome group! All the best. Alan

I have a model I would like to share in a webinar. I have already been doing them for New York State BOCES - Eastern Suffolk and Lower Hudson.
The model is SOFLA: Synchronous Online Flipped Learning Approach. How would I go about doing this for the Open SUNY community?
